I was blessed to hear Jill sing prior to and during services at Lake Avenue Church and Christian Assembly. When Jill first started attending Christian Assembly Woman's bible study, I talked to her and told her how I remembered her from Lake Ave. I loved her music and loved to see her pretty face. I am deeply saddened by her passing as she was too young. But I rejoice that she is singing in the choirs of heaven. Maybe she has met my son, Chris, and they are blessing the courts of heaven with their music. RIP

I am so saddened by this. Please know that Jill leaves a trail of amazing advice, enthusiasm and knowledge throughout the entire educational arena. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Jill was a force to be reckoned with. Her smile, her wicked sense of humor and her deep knowledge of teaching always impressed me. I so enjoyed watching her trainings, coaching and just hearing her speak. Such passion. I always had hopes we’d cross paths again. Jill will be sorely missed and I send my deepest condolences to her family and friends. 

Jill made a profound impact on my life. From the first time I met her, I knew she was my idol. superhero, and guru. I feel honored that I could call her my friend. I’ve spent the last decade soaking up as much as I could from Jill, her trainings, and books. Jill was so personable she would answer my texts, emails, and calls for help. There’s no way I can list all that I’ve learned from her. The first time I met Jill, her advice was to “act as if”. I have used that ever since. 
I feel as if the world lost one of it’s brightest stars. My deepest condolences to Jill’s family.   I will always remember Jill and how much she loved her family and her passion for helping districts, schools, and teachers. 

Jill made an incredible impression inmy life as a professional educator.  As a Title I district, Jill came to help teach our teachers how to teach reading.  I sat in those seminars not only enthralled with the things she taught, but the way she taught it.   I remember taking notes on her strategies and structures and her professional development techniques.    Jill then came to our sites and worked with a core group of teachers to build engaging teaching and learning strategies.  That core group of teachers went on to be the district's most influential teachers for many years. 

Years later Jill returned to help our most struggling schools with Mastery Guides.    Once again Jill's magic ignited the excitement for teaching reading. 

Jill's life was too short, but she touched the lives of thousands of students. My heart aches for your loss, the loss of the teachers who will not have the blessing of working with her, and students who are at risk.
