Robert M. Kern (Bob) passed away peacefully on June 10, 2015. Bob was born June 4, 1955, in Monroe, Washington. Bob graduated from Monroe High School in 1973 and lived his entire life in the Sky Valley area. Bob or “Big Bad” as some affectionately referred to him, was an avid sports fan, especially the UW Huskies. Bob also enjoyed helping his good friend Martin Korf compete in his tractor pull events. They traveled the Pacific Northwest for many years. Bob was also a long time Sky Valley Eagles member. Bob loved his family and friends – he always loved a good party.
Bob was preceded in death by the love of his life, Louise Tompkins; his loving Dad, John Garren; his father, Merrill Kern; and Grandparents. Bob is survived by his mother Jean Nelson; 5 brothers: Mark Kern (Robin), John Garren (Brenda), Gary Garren (Angie), Gene Garren (Kelly), and Greg Garren; 5 sisters: Denise Dickmeyer (Roy), Tracey Kern, Brenda Freemon, Gloria Sherman, Gail Law (Curt), and Glenda Bowden; along with many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and many many friends. Bob will be dearly missed by his family and friends in the Valley.

There will be a celebration of Bob’s life on Saturday June 20th from 2:00 PM -4:00 PM at the Sultan Eagles Club- 1115 East Main St, Sultan, WA 98294. If you would like to bring a favorite dish or dessert to share, it would be greatly appreciated. Punch, coffee and tea will be provided. There will be open mic time to share funny stories and memories of “Big Bad.”
