Known as Sue to her family and was born at home in Monroe to Elsie (Deane) & Howard Wagner. Her early years were in Monroe and Warm Beach where she was 8th of nine children. In 1949 the family moved to Fort Dick, Calif. where she graduated from Del Norte HS in 1962. Sue joined the US Army in 1963 where she met and married Rene Reeb while stationed at Ft. Leavenworth, KS; and, was where her first son Bradley was born. After leaving the service the family moved to Dallas, TX then Columbus, Ohio. In 1968 while on a trip to the west coast to visit family Sue’s car was hit by a drunk driver killing her son and her unborn son Brian. Sue and Rene returned to Dallas where Sam “Marc” was born. In 1970 Sue and Sam moved to Smith River, CA with her sister Judy. In 1971 after her mother had a serious heart attack she moved back to Monroe to care for her. In 1973 Sue married Jack Joseph and lived in Stanwood, Tonasket and Mabton Washington before returning to Monroe. After divorcing, Sue went to work at Twin Rivers Correction Center where she met and married Jim Knott (Ret. US Navy). Their son Anthony was born in 1987. The new family built a home in Gold Bar, WA where she resided until 2015 when she moved again to Monroe. Sue loved her home and family. She was most happy to stay close to home and garden and create. She was very organized and an avid crafter and quilter. To her an adventure was a camping trip with her kids and grandkids.
Sue is preceded in death by husband Jim; brothers Howard & Delmar; sisters Tiny, Elsie, Lola, Leah, Judy and sons Marc, Brad & Brian. She is survived by son Anthony and grandchildren Damien and Eowyn all of Monroe. Also, her sister Melony Simonsen and niece & caretaker Naomi Johnson. And many other nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held January 7th, 2023 at 211 W. Hill St., Monroe from 1-3 pm.
