Joan Carolyn Powers, born September 26, 1936 to Gavin and Vernice Robertson in Seattle, WA, departed this life on August 6, 2017 in Seattle, WA. She was 80 years old. Joan is survived by her three sons, David A. Powers and his wife Gwen of Walla Walla, Jim Powers of Monroe, and Brian Powers and his wife Stephanie of Monroe, sister Judy Rockey of Anacortes, granddaughter Brittney, and great-granddaughter Olivia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Edward Powers, on October 27, 2016. A Memorial Mass honoring Joan's life will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 3:00PM at St. Mary of the Valley Catholic Church in Monroe. Friends are welcome to join the family for a reception in the parish hall immediately following the service. Joan will be laid to rest at the IOOF Cemetery in Monroe.
