Gladys Irene Harthorn, born June 23, 1924 to Raymond and Eunice Patterson in Monitor, WA, departed this life on February 6, 2018 in Monroe, WA. She was 93. Gladys graduated from West Seattle High School, Class of 1942. She married DuWayne C. Nauman on April 15, 1949 and they had three children: William, Cindy, and Rick. After DuWayne passed away, she married her second husband, Robert Harthorn on March 19, 1995. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Gladys also worked as a teller for Bank of America for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts such as crocheting, involvement in Eastern Star and then Knights of Pythia. She also enjoyed sewing on badges for the local police officers and doing alterations for Snohomish ROTC uniforms. Gladys is survived by her children, William Nauman and his wife Laneta of Monroe, Cindy Pownall of Monroe, and Rick Nauman and his wife Shan of Stanwood, 5 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her first husband, DuWayne C. Nauman, her second husband, Robert Harthorn, her parents, and siblings Walt, Eunice, and Georgia. Gladys was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
