Mrs. Phyllis Funderburk

Phyllis Marian Simpson Funderburk, age 86, died peacefully with her family at her side November 15, 2016 in Franklin, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William A. Funderburk Jr.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Rebecca Funderburk of Turkey, NC; Sandra Elizabeth Funderburk and husband Mark Winchester of Nolensville, TN; Albert and Alla Funderburk of Mesa, AZ. She is also survived by six grandchildren.

Phyllis was born in Mecklenburg County, NC, October 22, 1930. She graduated from Indian Trail High School and later received her diploma from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. Her career as a nurse spanned 43 years, during which she worked as House Administrator, Emergency Room Supervisor and Out-Patient Staff Nurse at Union memorial Hospital. She was known for her generosity and loving kindness within her family and community and will be missed by all.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Shiloh Baptist Church from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, with funeral services beginning at 3:00pm. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
