She was born on August 28, 1959, in Ashland, Kentucky to Charles and Ethel Conley. Joy attended South Point High School in South Point, Ohio where she graduated in 1977. She loved photography, which was not only a lifelong hobby but was a professional career for her as well. Joy had other loves and interests in her life including bargain hunting, reading romance novels, and walking on the beach. Most of all she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and loving on her “grandbabies”.
Joy is preceded in death by her father, Charles Conley; and brother, Charlie Conley. She is survived by her loving husband, John Balmer; children, Krystal Balmer and Tiffany Springer; mother, Ethel Conley; grandchildren, Reagan Springer, Mylee Faye Springer, and Harper Springer; sisters, Janet Tate and Melissa Greene; and her best friend, Barbara Lehew.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, located at 204 South Main Street, Monroe, North Carolina. A private burial will be held at Lakeland Memorial Park.
