Farrell Richardson loved to travel to see this beauty of God’s creation. After having visited all 50 states and many foreign countries, at the age of 75 he took his greatest journey to his heavenly home. Can you imagine the sights and wonders he is experiencing now.
Farrell left this earth on Tuesday, February 23. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elaine; his daughter, Meredith Ong, her husband Ivan; his son Brad and his wife Jennifer. Also the loves of his life and his pride and joy: his grandchildren, Landon, Bailey, and Miles Richardson and Noah and Elena Ong. He is also survived by his brother Monte and his wife Denise.
Farrell graduated from Monroe High School and Kings Business College. His career in banking spanned over 46 years, working largely in local community banks. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve. Farrell was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all his heart, soul and mind and served Him in various capacities at First Baptist Indian Trail and later First Baptist Matthews.
He loved people and was never afraid to tell them so.
A service to honor his life here on earth will be held Sunday, February 28 at 2:00PM at First Baptist Matthews with visitation on Saturday, February 27 from 6PM to 8PM at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to FBC Matthews.
A special thanks to the RN’S and CNA’s at the Jesse Helms Center for their loving care and compassionate hearts.
