David Scott Mauney

David was born June 16, 1991 in Monroe, NC. He served in the U.S. Air Force for over 13 years, currently in the 628th Engineer Squadron as an explosive ordnance disposal technician. He was an avid dog lover, loved his country and had an amazing sense of adventure. We will all miss David and his presence in our lives.

David was preceded in death by grandparents Terry and Shelby Mauney of Concord, NC.

He is survived by his mother Sherri Mauney of Monroe, NC, father Chris Mauney and bonus mom Diomara of Fountain Inn, SC, grandparents, Ken Cunningham and Carol Brittian, brothers Christopher Mauney of Monroe, NC, Rodney Dunagan (wife Jenni) of Simpsonville, SC and Michael Dunagan (wife Stacey) of Simpsonville, SC. In addition, his loving nieces and nephews; Isabelle, Sophia, Annaleigh, Luke and Kevin. His proud uncles and aunts; Casey, Jason, Shelley and Carolyn, along with Lauren Shurley.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 5-8 pm at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, NC. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 11:30 am at Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe NC.
