Conley Eugene Cunningham, 77, of Indian Trail, NC, passed away on December 18th, 2016 at his residence. Conley was preceded in death by his parents, John S. and Dona Ivey Cunningham, a brother Howard Cunningham.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Mary Cunningham, children, Chris Cunningham, Vangie Whitley “Cindy”, Patrick Whitley “Patty”, three grandchildren, one great grandchild on the way, sisters, Virginia Foard, Brenda Styles, brothers, Jack Cunningham, Cliff Cunningham, Ralph Cunningham.
Conley was a hard working servant who loved the outdoors. He retired from General Motors in Charlotte and Shiloh Baptist Church in Monroe. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hiking, biking, playing softball, working in his yard, and was an avid reader. Conley enjoyed waterfalls, NASCAR, and was an excellent cook. He was a quiet and kind person who will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 21st from 12:00 noon until 1:30 P.M. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Monroe, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 P.M. in the Church Sanctuary; interment will follow in the Indian Trail City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation at www.parkinson.org. The family would like to thank Janice and Dawn with Home Instead; Tawana, Maria, Toni, Dee Dee, Liliya, Natasha and Anja with Golden Heart; and Novant Hospice for their loving care of Conley.
