On Saturday, January 21, 2023, Mr. Carl L. Peoples of Monroe, North Carolina traded his armor and his blue pick-up truck for a white robe and a white horse in God’s army in preparation of Jesus coming again.
He retired from the Army National Guard having served faithfully as a Master Sergeant for 23 years. He loved working in the yard and upcycling and making furniture. He was known for his wings that he cooked for his church and the police department on various occasions.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Helen Peoples; and brother, Danny Ray Peoples. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Sandra Karg; son, Kris Peoples (Katharine); daughter, Tracey Peoples; son, Mike Fest (Lisa); and sister, Betsy Haynes; granddaughter, Vivian Peoples, nephew, Brian Haynes (Tracey), niece, Hollie Haynes Garrett (Adam); as well as 3 great-nephews and 3 great-nieces; and his precious fur-baby Lani.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 27th, 2023 at 1:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. A service to celebrate his life will then follow at 2:00 pm in the McEwen Colonial Chapel. Service will be Facebook live on McEwen's Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, contributions and memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe is honored to serve the family of Mr. Carl L. Peoples.
