Born in Paris, France he was the son of Louis and Lillian Lebenkorn, He was self-employed as a graphic artist.
Leon was a member of Chabad Shelton- Monroe. He was a fabulous musician - played over the years in various bands as lead and rhythm guitar player then more recent years recording and playing with his brother from another mother, David Dorchinsky in his man cave.
He was loved by many, never had a bad word to say about anyone and could always make you laugh. A positive person with a great vibe and always had a quip to say “peace love and flowers”. Always on an even keel, with a willingness to help when asked without expecting anything in return. He was loved and liked by many, and will be missed tremendously by family and friends alike.
Leon is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sherri Lebenkorn, and beloved pet Sonny, father in -law Martin Berke and wife Carol, brother and sister-in-law Dean and Jane Berke, nephew Stacey and Ruzlaini Brown and their children Ibrahim, Myra and Lyla Brown,as well as niece Lisa Holodnak and her children Anthony and Nicholas Holodnak. Leon is predeceased by beloved father Louis and mother Lillian Lebenkorn, sister Rosalie and brother-in law Jerry Bernardo, aunt Sara and Ben Schwartz, cousin Bertha and Harold White, and mother-in-law Norma Berke.
Funeral Service to be celebrated Sunday, September 3rd 11am at Loyalty Cemetery, 172 Burroughs Road, Fairfield, CT 06825.
