Joseph Conte, born to and preceded in death by Teresa and Frank Conte, passed away on November 6, 2024, at the age of 71 in Danbury, Connecticut. Born on March 13, 1953, he lived a life marked by dedication, strength, and loyalty.
Joseph was a beloved figure known for his hard-working nature, sharp wit, and unwavering reliability. He was so kind, generous, and encouraging and truly believed that with hard work anything could be achieved. Joe is survived by and remembered as a devoted husband to Mary-Lee Conte, a loving father to Dini Tetrick, a caring brother to Anna Pellico and Gino Conte, and uncle to Frankie, Danny, and Johnny Pelico, Chantel Conte, Susan Vernon, Shaun Hanley, Sarah Hall, Amanda and Lizzy Olson, Katelynn and Amy Hanley. Joseph formed deep, lasting bonds that are cherished by all who knew him. He also shared a special companionship with his dog, Maddigan, who was not only a pet but his best friend. Joe loved his job and saw the team at NYCHA as not only friends, but as family.
Throughout his life, Joseph maintained a vibrant array of interests. He was an avid tennis player, a DIY home improvement enthusiast, and he had a keen interest in music, news, and politics. His love for walking his beloved dog Maddigan and taking vacations to the beach were simple pleasures that brought great joy to his life.
A gathering to honor and celebrate Joseph's life will be held at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT, 06468.
