Beloved husband of Judith M. Skold nee Asche. It would have been 60 years of marriage at the end of this month. Proud father of David (Diane) Skold, Kirstin Kottka and Amy (Kevin) Fisher. Loving grandpa to Joseph Kottka, Joshua Kottka, Michael (Alyssa) Kottka, Bonnie Skold, Adriana Fisher, Kiera Fisher and Lauren Fisher. Dear brother to Barbara Novak, Doris McIntyre and Ronald (Pat) Skold; siblings: Barbara (late Ronald) Novak, Doris (late William) McIntyre and Ronald (Pat) Skold; brother-in-law, Paul (Barbara) Asche and sister-in-law, Lynne (Rodney) Seymour. Joseph is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Jr. and Louise Skold and Eva Skold nee Jennings.
Joseph graduated from Fenger High School in Chicago. He went on to attend IIT and Chicago Jr. College. After many years of working as an office manager, Joseph retired from New Your Life. During retirement Joseph drove a school bus for Van Com. Joseph was also a member of the Cardinal Creek Golf League in Beecher. Joseph and Judy belonged to Elim Lutheran church in Chicago and Trinity Lutheran church in Matteson.
Joseph was an avid reader, loved golf, his wife and family. He loved to garden and definitely had a green thumb. Joe had a wonderful reading voice when he would read to us as kids.He loved going to the Lake House, listening to classical music and opera in the car, it was fun for family trips. Dad enjoyed singing in the choir at our old church and had a sense of humor till the end. We cherish many many memories.
He will be forever missed. Love you Dad.
