Daniel R. Arendt, age 76, of Kankakee, IL., formerly of Plainfield, IL and Park Forest, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Patricia L. Arendt (Panneck); loving daughters: Emily (Tim) Skyer and Sarah (Jay) Werner; cherished grandchildren: Cassandra (Blake) England, Joshua Werner and Makinzie Werner; dear sisters: Gayle (Tim) Senesac and Nancy (Tom) Kupec. Daniel is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Lorraine Arendt.
Daniel had a passion for education. He taught Social Studies for St. John Fisher Catholic School in Chicago, IL, Troy Middle School within the Troy 30C School District in Plainfield, IL. He also was the Sports REporter for The Star newspaper and coached many children in basketball, soccer, softball and wrestling. Daniel was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Skyline Funeral Home, 24800 S. Governors Hwy., Monee with a Chapel Service beginning at 1:00 PM . Interment to follow at Skyline Memorial Park. For information please call 708-534-8256
