He was born October 7, 1948. He was preceded in death by his parents Waymon "Buddy" Lewis and Nita Mae Lewis as well as A. L. "Booster" Lewis.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Margaret Lewis; two daughters, Sheri (Stephen) Myles and Stephanie (Brian) Moak; brother, Keith (Carolyn) Lewis; sister, Pam (Glenn) Lewis; two brother-in-laws, Larry (Darlene) Freeman and David (Carol Ann) Freeman; and aunt, Oleta (Auntie) Lewis. He leaves two very special and dear to his heart grandchildren, Devin Mathers and Savanna Mathers known to and called by them as "Papa". He leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Steve worked for Getty Oil Co. for 23 years, Texaco for 5 years and as an Independent Consultant until 2008. He loved the oilfield and was as dedicated to his work as to his family. His work ethic was simple, his loyalty and respect unending. He made many friends through his travels, enjoyed his experiences and was blessed for the opportunities. Steve enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He could catch fish when no one else could! He loved nothing more to be on the water with a rod n'reel in hand and telling Devin, "I got the BIGGEST fish!" He loved fishing trips with family and friends. He enjoyed the time spent with everyone whether you were having a cup of coffee or staying a while. He will be sadly missed my many.
Special thanks to Pam Lewis and Glenn Russ for all their support during such a difficult time. You are truly a God send. We love you!
