Mr. Thomas Allan Williams – a resident of Mobile, AL for the past 44 years, was received into the arms of Jesus on October 17, 2010 after an extended illness. He was born on July 15, 1943 in Houston, TX. He was a born-again Christian and a member of Moffett Road Assembly of God Church. Allan served in the U. S. Air Force, active and reserve, September 1964 until August 1970. He retired from Southern Electric in Mobile in October 2001. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Thomas Williams; his mother, Miriam Johnson Wakefield; and sister, Sharon Wakefield Barnhill. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Gloria Jackson Williams; daughter, Tammy Williams (Charles, Jr.) Ernest; and two grandchildren, Charles Joseph Ernest, III (C.J.) and Madison Leigh Ernest. He is also survived by step-mother, Melba Williams; two brothers, Ricque (Judy) Williams and Donald (Melody) Wakefield; one sister, Diane Wall; and many other family members and friends. Allan was a very devout Alabama “Roll Tide” fan. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the FMC Magnolia Manor Dialysis Center, Amedisys Home Health Care, and physicians and staff at Springhill Medical Center for the wonderful care they gave him. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 10 A.M. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street, with Reverend Jerry Jenkins officiating. The visitation will be Thursday, October 21, 2010 from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
