S. D. Smith

S. D. Smith a native of Clarke County and longtime resident of Theodore, Alabama, passed away at his home on Monday, August 19, 2013. Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters. He was employed as a boilmaker for over 40 years with Local 112. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to share his chewing gum with children he met along the way. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Sammie Smith and son Phillip Smith (Nellie). He is also survived by four sisters Lois Batley (William), Nettie Allday, Jeanette Lewis and Frances Davis. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel.
