Ricky Martinius Carlsen, born in Mobile, Alabama on December 15, 1952, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jens and Virgina Carlsen. He leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife of 34 years, Jan Carlsen; two sons, Chad (Tabby) Carlsen and Evan (Courtney) Bradley; one daughter, Laura (Taylor) Little; and eight grandchildren; Kacey, Marlee, Sage, Gaines, Norah, Gemma, Georgia, and Lincoln. He is also survived by his sister, Pamela (Curtis) Johnson and a host of other family, friends, and relatives.
Ricky was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He especially loved the outdoors, Alabama football, being involved in church, and singing in the choir. He was a friend to all and always greeted everyone with a sweet smile on his face. Although the love he had for his family and friends ran deep, his love for the Lord was even deeper.
The family would like to thank the staff of Sparrow Hills of Lucedale, Mississippi for the care and love given to Ricky during his final days.
A visitation will be held at Pathway Church on Thursday, December 26, 2024, beginning at 10:00am with the service beginning at 12:00pm. A graveside service will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Art Bowling, Buck Bowling, Charlie Bowling, Curt Johnson, Taylor Little, and Josh Meek will serve as pallbearers.
