Michael Rhinehardt Corry, 77, of Mobile, Alabama, affectionately known by close friends and family members as Mickey, passed away on the evening of May 28, 2022, after a very painful and lengthy illness. Michael was born on January 18, 1945, to Robert Emmett Corry and Rachel Schreiner Corry. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved daughter, Katherine Corry Culberson; and he leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 56 years, Sandra Shaw Corry; his son, Michael Rhinehardt Corry, Jr. (Amy); his brother, Robert Emmett Corry, Jr. (Anne); two sisters, Sandra Corry Smith (Jeff); and Debra Corry Guyton (Patrick); his grandson, Michael Rhinehardt Corry, III; his granddaughter, Julia Elise Corry; numerous nieces and nephews; and his big handsome cat, Elvis, and his little mischievous pup, Laney. Michael attended the University of Alabama for one year; and, after transferring to the University of South Alabama (USA), earned a Bachelor of Science degree from USA, where he was the founder and first president of the Sigma Chi chapter at the University of South Alabama. Michael worked in marine and industrial sales in his early career and later as a local realtor. He had faith in God, and that faith only grew stronger in his final years of life. He was a lover of food, music, and history. Michael will be remembered by those who loved him as a brave warrior who suffered greatly.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on June 17, 2022 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway, with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following. Inurnment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
