Mary Ellen Perry Wallace

Mrs. Mary Ellen Perry Wallace, beloved wife, mother, and Nonnie, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2,2017. Mrs. Wallace was born on April 24 1934. She was a graduate of Murphy High School, Class of 1951. She was a devoted wife and mother, her pride and joy were her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. Mrs. Wallace was an excellent seamstress, sewing clothes and creating costumes and many other items for her family. She was also an excellent cook, baking and cooking just about anything, with pecan pie being her specialty. Every Sunday after church she would prepare a family meal of roast beef, mashed potatoes, peas and her special macaroni and cheese. Her life was spent devoted to her children and her grandchildren. Mrs. Wallace served as a Girl Scout cookie mom, Room Mother, PTA member, Sorority parent, Baseball Team mom, and many other titles throughout the years. She attended every activity that her children and grandchildren were involved in. Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Earl S. Wallace Jr., her son, Earl S. Wallace III, and her brother, Johnny Perry.

She is survived by her daughter, Marianne Vance (Robby), her daughter in law, Peggy Wallace, her grandchildren, Ross and Jill Vance, Shelby and Alex Glenn, Alec Wallace, and Blake Wallace. She is also survived by her loving sister in law, Jan Perry, her brother in law, Joe Wallace and her niece, Denise Harper. The family would like to say a special thanks to her 2 dedicated caregivers, Rosalind Slater and Jessica Hunt and her hospice nurse, Jessica Morris. Mrs. Wallace will be greatly missed by her friends and family, she was very loved by all that knew her. There will be a graveside service at Pine Crest Cemetery on Monday March 7 at 11:00 a.m. After the service the family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Wallace.
