Mary “Pat” Turberville Walker- devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, a 90 year-old native Monroe County, AL and longtime resident of Chickasaw exchanged this life for Heavenly peace with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 17, 2016. She was the best mother that ever lived, a true Southern Lady, and a fine Christian woman who loved her church, Chickasaw First Baptist. She attended Livingston College and was a former teacher at Agee’s Kindergarten in Whistler.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Herbert Walker, and daughter, Janice Walker Swagerty. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Walker Hamilton (Marion) and Gloria Walker Skipper (Earston); grandchildren, Shelly Scott (Paul) and Phillip May (Vera); grandchildren, Caroline Scott, Paul Scott, Jr., Anne Katherine Scott, Ella Frances Scott, Jasmine Haas, and Ella Elizabeth May; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. The family wants to thank the staff at Gordon Oaks Assisted Living for the love care shown for Mrs. Walker during the past years.
Visitation will be held from Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, from 9 to 10 a.m. Graveside services will follow in Magnolia Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2151 Highland Avenue South, Ste 210, Birmingham, AL 35205.
