Mary Wanda Anthony Cantwell, a native of Evergreen, AL, longtime resident of Mobile, AL and current resident of Foley, AL passed Tuesday. She was a 1947 graduate of Lyeffion High School. In 1948 she entered active duty military service at Fort Sam Houston as a medical technician in the United States Army. Upon completion of her initial service obligation, she married her first husband, Robert William Dederich, in 1950. Wanda later moved from Wisconsin to Mobile, AL where she married William H. Cantwell. She was very involved in her church and community. She is preceded in death by her parents, David Lee Anthony and Nannie Mae Cotton Anthony; and her two husbands. She is survived by her three children, Diana Anthony, Mark (Sunny) Dederich and Celeste Dederich; her two brothers, Weldon (Kathy) Anthony and Elwin Anthony; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, July 11, 2014 from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Ft., AL at a later date.
