Marion Hope Strickler Hatchett – a 76 year-old resident of Grand Bay passed away at her home on Monday, December 13, 2010. She was a longtime member of Union Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School touching many lives through the years. Mrs. Hatchett was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Louis E. Hatchett, and brother, Stan Strickler, Jr. She is survived by three children, Linda Hatchett and Karla Jackson (Mike) of Mobile and Edd Hatchett of Ellijay, GA; three grandchildren, Bradley, Brittany, and Brooke Jackson; sister, Lila Bonner (Rickie); brother, Darryl Strickler (Gail); sisters-in-law, June Strickler and Marilyn Hatchett; many other relatives and friends. The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Wiregrass Hospice and Mrs. Hatchett’s two caregivers, Lorraine Poteet and Teri Paul, for all of their care and support. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, December 16, 2010, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour. Interment will be in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Union Baptist Church, 5251 Grand Bay-Wilmer Rd. S., Grand Bay, AL 36541.
