

Elaine Bertagnolli, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2011, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 67. She was diagnosed with cancer on November 18, 2011 and it was by God’s grace that she did not endure a long battle. She was a native of Mobile, Alabama and a resident of Daphne, Alabama born to the late Paul Douglas & Annie Margaret Weaver of Mobile, AL on July 19, 1944. She was an LPN for 35 years. Her gift was her compassion for others. She was known for her selfless acts of kindness as she cared for her family and friends in their time of illness or in need of special medical care outside of her nursing work. Her hobbies included baking & decorating cakes, sewing, flower arranging for family weddings, crossword puzzles and most of all, “Girls Night”. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, she enjoyed shopping for her family carefully hand selecting each gift pertaining to their accomplishments and for the quality time she spent with them. She continued family traditions over the years she learned as a child and kept the family gatherings going during the holidays. Elaine was a strong person, she was well respected and loved by many she knew and met in her lifetime. She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Joseph O’Shea II; two sisters, Anne Raley, Mary Whatley, nephew, Charlie Raley and niece Paula Josey. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, a devoted husband of 39 years, Gerald F. Bertagnolli and three daughters, Michele Tew, DeAnne (John) Green, Shawn Foreman and one brother, Paul D. (Iris) Weaver; daughter in law, Mellanee O’Shea; grandchildren she loved and adored, Jason (Kim) Tew, Maggie (Chris) Gollotte, T.J. Tew, Christy Tew, Justin (Catherine) Tew, Blane & Hannah Green, Joseph & Madison O’Shea; great grandchildren, Jordan, Macie, Logan, Kyleigh, Jaden, Cade, Lee, Tiffany, Alex, Scott and one expecting Kenneth Colten and many dear nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Christ the King Catholic Church on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 1:00 PM. with a final viewing from 12 noon until 12:45 PM at the church. Interment will be in Belforest Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
