Master Sergeant, Retired Lorenzo George French, III, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 after a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lorenzo G. and Anna B. French, Sr. and Ian A. and Geraldine O'Shea Travis King.
Lorenzo attended Murphy High School and Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, FL. He entered the United States Army and continued his education through Excelsior University where he obtained his bachelor's degree. He served honorably in the Army for 25 years as a Career Counselor, serving in Germany, Bosnia and Iraq. He loved the military and his military family.
He was an avid Alabama football fan, enjoyed fishing and was a true grill-master.
Lorenzo is survived by his wife, Amanda and parents; Lorenzo G. French, Jr. (Marylee) and Barbara King Timmer. He is also survived by his step-children; Anita Lipscomb, Tiffany and Cordelia Welch, sisters, Charlotte French Hearn (W. Kyle), Monique Lee French, grandchildren; Mia, Alex, Isabella, nephew, James Tyler and niece Kathryn Anne Hearn. He will be also remembered and missed by his other family members, friends and military family.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Celebration of Life will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery with military honors.
Flowers are welcome or donations may be offered to the Wounded Warrior Project in his honor.
