Larry Clifton Jones

He was a proud father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many in the development and building community.

He enjoyed talking politics, Alabama Football, antique cars and stories of “old times”. His talents led him to a career as a Professional Land Surveyor. He ran the surveying department of Rester & Coleman for 40 plus years, designing many of Mobile’s subdivisions and commercial sights. After retiring, he went to work for Thompson Engineering as a Senior Project Manager.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Jim Crayton Jones; Mother, Alpha Lee Jones; Sister, Betty Murphy Thompson; Sister, Mary Nell Jones and Brother, Roland L Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Daisy Lamie Jones. Two children, Debra Dunnam (Jeffrey) and Michael Clifton Jones (Traci); grandchildren, Alex Dunnam (Lauren); Collin Dunnam, Tyler Jones, Ethan Jones and Ansley Jones; his great-grandson Graham Dunnam. His sister, Frances Griffin (GH) and brother, Ralph Joseph Jones (Nettie); all his nieces, nephews and cousins.

He worked with many departments in the City and developed a great friendship with so many people in different departments, such as permitting and traffic engineering.

The celebration of life will be April, 26, 2023

at Pine Crest Funeral Home on DIP. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00, with family graveside at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the American Diabetes Foundation or American Cancer Society.
