Kenneth Douglas Hearin, Sr., 74, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at his home in Citronelle, Alabama. Ken was born in Providence, Rhode Island to James and Margaret Hearin. He had six years of active service with the United States Army. Ken completed a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Political Science at the University of Mobile, and then went on to receive a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Auburn University. He was a carpenter, a woodworker, and enjoyed photography. Ken was a Godly man – a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Citronelle. He was an avid reader of history and religion. Ken was a family man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret Hearin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Hearin; children, Karen Hearin, Kenneth Hearin, Jr., Kathy Hearin, Kevin Hearin, and Keith Hearin; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Hearin; sister, Deborah Hearin; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
A graveside service for Ken will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church in Citronelle, Alabama.
