Joseph Clark Crenshaw Jr, 75, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 29, 2024 at his home in Saraland, AL. Born on July 22, 1949, in Mobile, AL, he was the son of Joseph Clark Crenshaw Sr. and Mildred Crenshaw (Mayson). Joseph graduated from Murphy High School in 1966, completed the Diving Training Academy program in 1971, earned an associate’s degree in applied science from Bishop State Community College in 1992, and a degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology from Alabama Aviation & Technical College the same year.
He was a world traveler, professional deep-sea diver, Commercial truck driver, Plant Manager and airplane mechanic. Despite his diverse career, he retired from the State of Alabama as an ALDOT employee. He loved his family and was a proud father, grandfather & great-grandfather. His granddaughter and great grands were definitely his greatest joy right alongside jeeping. Known by many names—Skip, Skipper, Skippy, Joe, Jay, or J.C.—his favorite title was "Pawpaw." An adventurous soul, he was a captivating storyteller who could keep listeners engaged for hours. As a friend, he was a great listener, offering valuable advice, and never hesitated to show love, appreciation, or offer an apology when needed. A history enthusiast, he could share extensive knowledge on a variety of topics, and if you ever needed help with something—whether teaching his daughter to ride a bike, multiplying, driving, changing a tire, building, or plumbing—he was always ready to lend a hand.
Those left to cherish the memories of Joseph are his daughter Tommie McHenry (David), granddaughter Abigail Stringfellow, great-grandchildren Novaleigh and Joseph, his siblings Richard Crenshaw (Angela) & Cathleen Salas, his nieces Jennifer Belcher (Josh), Melissa Salas, Casey Holliday (Knox) & Kendall Taylor (Chris) and his great niece and nephews, Porter, Lance, & Lucille, along with numerous others as well as a large extended family; also to include a lifelong friends, Debra Crenshaw Sullivan who held a very special place in his heart, Randy Hines and Chase Pollman Joseph is proceeded in death by his Father, Joseph Clark Crenshaw Sr. & mother, Mildred Crenshaw (Mayson), his niece Jessica Cristina Salas and his lifelong friend Ricky Hodges.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 1 PM to 4 PM at Pine Crest Funeral Home, located at 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL 36605.
