John Albert Blackwell, a lifelong resident of Wilmer, Al passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013. John was a faithful member of Providence Church of God (now known as Grace Point Church of God). He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Miriam Blackwell; three sons, John A. Blackwell, Jr. (Susan), James M. Blackwell (Lisa), Gary F. Blackwell (Regina); brother, David Blackwell; six grandchildren, Kayla Blackwell, Kindra Blackwell, Logan Blackwell, Travis Ikner, Hailey and Sydney Morel; one great-grandchild, Addison Grace Blackwell. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Grace Point Church of God 6819 Old Shell Road, Mobile, Al from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Grace Point Church of God. Interment will follow in Pine Crest West.
