James W. Watt, Jr. “Jimmy”, 95, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in Mobile, Alabama. He was born in Demopolis, Alabama to James W. Watt, Sr. and Inez Jeffrey Watt on January 15, 1926. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Jimmy graduated from Murphy High School, as well as Alabama Poly Tech (Auburn University). Jimmy was retired from the Alabama State Health Department. He was a true southern gentleman who never met a stranger. Jimmy loved spending time in Lower Peachtree, hunting, and Auburn Football.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Smith Watt; his parents; and one brother, L. Jeffrey Watt.
He is survived by his sons, James “Jamey” W. Watt, III (Jamie) and Louis “Lou” S. Watt (Diane); grandsons, J. Ryan Watt (GeeGee) and Christopher R. Watt (Sydney); great-grandchildren, Colton E. Watt and Madelyn R. Owens; as well as nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Andrea Samuels.
Visitation for Jimmy will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a graveside service immediately following in Pine Crest Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Ryan Watt, Chris Watt, Fred Allman, Rick Greer, Kenny Helton, Andrea Samuels, Stephen Smith, and Wesley Watt.
