Helen Marie (Roberts) McAleer

Helen was a resident of the Little Sisters of the Poor in Mobile. She graduated from Murphy High School and attended Birmingham Southern College. Helen had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed singing in the church choir at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi, MS, where she raised her family. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed listening to music and spending time with her friends. She was a devoted and caring mother to her five children.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents H.T. and Florence Roberts. She is survived by her children, Richard Barry McAleer, Jr. (Cheril) of Mobile, Rebecca Adell Hardy (Mike) of Pensacola, Monica (“Happy”) Shultis (Charles) of Flowood, MS, Charles Henry McAleer (Jennifer) of Perdido Key, and Susan McAleer Weston of Mobile; and her brother, Henry Roberts, of Bay Minette. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Helen’s children are grateful to the Sisters, Nurses and all the Staff at Little Sisters of the Poor for their extraordinary, loving and spiritual care they gave their mom for the past few years.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Little Sisters of the Poor on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
