

since 1979, died on September 3, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Steve grew up in the lumber business, following in his father's footsteps. He started his professional
lumber career with the Building Materials Division of International Paper, working his way up from sales
to branch manager in Mobile. He had been a purchasing agent for Mobile Lumber & Millwork since
1999. He was a shrewd businessman, having his own beliefs on how things should be done. Most
business associates valued his knowledge of the lumber business. He was an avid sports fan of the
Auburn Tigers, USA Jaguars, and the Missouri Tigers. Steve grew up with a the love of the outdoors,
hunting and fishing being his passion. He was a member of American Legion Post 76.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years Karen; two loving daughters Stephanie (Jeff) Jones and
Trish (Chris) Doyle; four precious grandchildren Hannah and Addison Jones, Brice and Baylee Doyle, all
of Mobile. He is also survived by his mother Betty Bradley; sister Melissa (Preston) Espinosa; nephews
Tyler and Tanner Espinosa; special niece Beth Moore, all of Columbia, MO. Family members from
Brookfield, MO are his mother-in-law Shirley Ewing and sister-in-law Margie (Mike) Moore. He is also
survived by many other relatives, friends, and business associates.
He was preceded in death by his father H. Gwen Bradley, his sister Cynthia Bradley, maternal
grandparents Walter and Hazel Mathis, paternal grandparents Harry and Walsie Bradley, and father-inlaw
Dr. James R. Ewing.
The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, September
7, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 8,
2011, at 10 a.m. Internment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
