H.H. “Buddy” Edwards, born September 29, 1923 passed away on January 25, 2012 at the age of 88. A native and longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama died on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Mr. Edwards was a US Marine Corp veteran, retired Fire Chief with the Mobile Fire Department, member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church and a member of a local mystic society. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Jean Edwards; children, John H. Edwards, James M. “Jimmy” Edwards, David A. (Karen) Edwards, Mary Ann (Larry) Urban, William D. (Norma) Edwards; sister, Carolyn (Carley) Anderson; grandchildren, Josh, Jamie, Melissa, Rachel, Kayley, Brittany, Matthew, Daniel and great grandson, Jesse. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM from St. Matthew Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.Arrangements under the direction of Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, Mobile, AL.
