Ellen Louise Robinson of Mobile, AL died on June 8, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born in Fort Deposit, Alabama on February 25, 1931, one of 10 children born to Wilton and Ellen Moorer. She was a graduate of Lowndes County High School and Troy State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. While at Troy, she met Ray Robinson, to whom she was married for 65 years prior to her passing. She taught school for several years until she began to raise her own family. She and Ray had 3 children – Kent, Bobby, and Paula. Louise was extremely active in the Church of Christ for her entire life, with her special gift being that of teaching Sunday School to preschool children. The Church was always full of teenagers and young adults that she had taught coming by to check on “Miss Louise”. She is survived by her loving husband Ray; her son Kent; grandchildren Mary Kent, Alan, and Scott; great-granddaughter Catherine; sister Grace; brothers Rex and Dawson; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and her church family. Visitation for Mrs. Robinson will be held from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in the Oakleigh Room at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with the Funeral Service at 10 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to the meals on wheels program at Creekwood Church of Christ.
