Elaine Farnell Kopf

Elaine Farnell Kopf, age 79, of Foley, AL, passed away on Thursday, August 17 in Mobile, AL. She was born July 26, 1938 in Mobile, AL to her parents, H.R. and Marjorie Farnell. A 1956 graduate of Murphy High School, Elaine married Leon E. Kopf, Jr. in Mobile on January 26, 1957. After raising their four children, Elaine received a nursing degree from the University of South Alabama in 1982. She worked as a Registered Nurse for years. Elaine was a member of First Baptist Church of Foley, where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed a home on the river, and the company of her beloved dogs. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Leon E. Kopf Jr.; son, Lee Kopf; and brother, Donald Farnell. She is survived by three children, Ellen (David)Parker, Darren (Fay) Kopf, and Angela (Jeff) Harlan; daughter-in-law, Janet Kopf; 10 grandchildren, Alex Kopf, Matthew Kopf, Chris (Kimberly) Parker, Michael (Rebecca) Parker, Joey Kopf, Scott (Sabrina) Kopf, Daniel Kopf, Lauren Kopf, Kitty Harris, and Kenneth Harris; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Emmett Farnell and H.R. Farnell, Jr.; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. and a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Foley. A visitation and graveside service will follow at Pine Crest Funeral Home and Cemetery in Mobile at 2 p.m. after the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elaine’s name to the First Baptist Church of Foley, or to your favorite charity.
