Cora Lea Howarter Teague, 71, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 in Mobile, AL. Mrs. Teague was born to Virgil and Cora Brooks Howarter in Cuba, IL on October 16, 1946. She was an amazing baker, more specifically her famous Hoosier cakes and peanut butter pies. She loved to take care of children, having cared for many during her time at Dauphin Way Baptist Childcare Center. She also loved caring for family or friends and she loved to knit. More than anything, Mrs. Teague loved her husband. She was devoted to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Cora Brooks Howarter; her husband, Michael S. Teague, Jr.; two sisters, Joanne Howarter and Delores Thrasher; and three brothers, Richard (Neva) Howarter, Gary (Doris) Howarter, and Greg (Candi) Brooks.
She is survived by her son, John M. (Shellie) Teague; daughters, Josie Teague and Melissa (Keith) Randall; grandchildren: Carson Teague, Know Teague, “one on the way” Teague, Angel Randall, Aroura Randall, Lucian Randall, and Logan Randall; sisters; Joanne Johnson and Nancy Foster; brothers, Virgil (Joyce) Howarter, and Larry (Peggy) Howarter; as well as 19 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in the chapel at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
