Billy Joe McCrory, Sr. – a 70 year-old native of Morton, MS and longtime resident of Semmes passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019. Mr. McCrory retired from U.O.P. after 31 years of service. A 33rd degree Mason, he was a former Past-master of Spring Hill Lodge and was currently the Treasurer of Howard Lodge. Mr. McCrory was known throughout the Semmes area for his smoked meat.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary McCrory. Mr. McCrory is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Edker “Eddie” McCrory; children, Michell McCrory Trowell and Bud McCrory (Danielle); grandchildren, Samantha Trowell, Kenleigh McCrory, Emma Cate McCrory, and Braden McCrory; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 13, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
