Betty Jean Edwards

Betty Jean Edwards – passed away peacefully in the arms of an Angel on March 13, 2013. She joins her husband Buddy in eternity after sharing a life of 65 years together. She was born the youngest daughter of John Brooks and Minnie Lee Lavinghouse on July 24, 1928 in Mobile, Alabama. She spent her life in loving devotion to her family. She had a deep and strong Catholic Faith which carried her through all the times of her life. Betty is survived by her five children, John Henry, James Michael, David Anthony and wife Karen, Mary Ann and Husband Larry, William Donald and wife Norma Jean; her grandchildren, Josh, Jamie, Brittany, Melissa, Matthew, Rachel, Kayley, and Daniel; and her great-grandson, Jesse. She is also survived by her brother George Guy Lavinghouse of Houston, Texas, niece, Sunny Stauter and husband John; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Anderson and husband Carley. The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the “Angels” who lovingly cared for her during her final days. The family will receive friends from 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Monday, March 18, 2013 at St. Matthew Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 9 A.M. until 10 A.M. on Monday at the Church. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
