Beth was a member of the Great Generation, born to Benjamin Franklin Bailey and Susan Annabelle Rogers Bailey in Lucedale, MS on August 2, 1920. She worked with the Corps of Engineers during WII as a secretary and moved to Mobile in 1941.
Beth married the love of her life, H. Elmer Ezell in 1943. Together they had three children. She worked for her husband for several years as a secretary, with businesses and ventures he founded. Beth loved gardening, and could be called quite the collector – she could decorate for any season, and adored antiques. She also enjoyed coloring, but above all else, she loved spending time with her family, friends, and church family at First Baptist Church of Mobile.
Beth was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, H. Elmer Ezell; one grandson, Larry Michael Patin; and seven siblings.
She is survived by her children, Susan Ezell Patin, Elizabeth Ezell Wright (John), and Norwood Bailey Ezell; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild to make an appearance soon; a sister, Stella Bailey Ward; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
