Barbara “Bobbie” Scott Lane, age 89 of Orange Beach, Alabama passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018. Barbara was born November 5, 1928 in Mobile, Alabama to Myrtle Alice Bishop Scott and William Joseph Scott.
Barbara is survived by her children, Darryl (Tommie) Lane, Donna (Bob) Kolb, Marcia (Steve) Turgeau, and Amanda (Doug) Fultz; brother, William Joseph Scott; sisters, Marie Stewart Porter and Rosanne Scott (Ralph) Milligan; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her lifelong friend and cousin Jewel Hare Wilson.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles William Lane, Jr.; son, Michael Lane; daughter, Beverly Lane Carter; father, William Joseph Scott; and mother, Myrtle Alice Bishop Scott.
Barbara was a graduate of Murphy High school and attended the University of Alabama. While at Murphy she was in Diversified Occupations and had a part-time job at Federal Credit Clothiers. Barbara and her husband Charles retired and enjoyed their life in Orange Beach. Bobbie was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Thomas By The Sea's parish. Her friendships there enriched her life with the likes of line dancing, book club, and her daily two mile walks with her dear friend Delores. Bobbie had a heart full of love for her husband and her family. She was a valiant and spirited lady.
A visitation for Barbara will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 906 Garrity St, Mobile, Alabama 36605. A mass of Christian burial will occur Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, 1202 Virginia St, Mobile, Alabama 36604.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice and her caregivers Alexis Durgan and Stephanie Gibbs.
Serving as pallbearers are Wade Cooper, Jamie Pipkin, Eric Turgeau, Michael Lane, Jackson Kolb, Charlie Carter and Brodie Fultz.
