Barbara was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1934 and moved to Mobile in 1952 after her marriage to James H. Barnes Jr. She is survived by her son Steven E. Barnes, Daughter Marsha Ann Fuller, her son in law Walter Fuller, Grandchildren Patrick O'rouke, Leslie Fuller Hewatt and Mathew Fuller.
Barbara was a stay at home mom dedicating her life to her two children and later in life chose a career at the Alabama Dry Dock and Ship Building Company in Mobile, Ala.
She loved many things but most of all her children, her border collie Dutchess and the color purple.
A positive, gentle soul Barbara knew how to look for the best in others. She complemented with ease and loved a good hat and a bright nail polish. When Barbara spoke about Steve and Marsha she often said no one could be more handsome and prettier than the two of them. Barbara was a dog whisperer as well, all dogs gravitated to her. She did not ever want to be a bother.

Visitation in memory of Barbara will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 10:00 am to 11:00 p.m., at the Pine Crest Funeral Home, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile Alabama, with Rev. Xxxx . Interment will follow in the family plot at Pine Crest Cemetery.
