Alton Earl Cooper, 85, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 in Grand Bay, Alabama. Earl was a graduate of Murphy High School. He managed a shoe store, was a painter, a union insulator, and owned and managed his own retail business – but Earl always said his biggest accomplishment was his family. When he wasn’t working, he loved to fish and hunt. Earl enjoyed playing golf and horseshoes. When he was younger, he liked bowling. Earl loved playing card games, gardening, Atlanta Braves Baseball, and Alabama football. He was also a big Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Ida Cooper.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Cooper; sons, Danny Cooper, Darrin Cooper, and Jeffrey Cooper; grandchildren, Caleb Cooper (Sara), Joy Cooper, Courtney Baygents (Joshua), Casey Cooper, DJ Cooper, Bradley Cooper, Maxx Cooper, and Nina Cooper; one sister, Joyce Aborady; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Earl will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pine
Crest Funeral Home. A funeral service will be in Pine Crest’s chapel at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021, with interment immediately following in Pine Crest Cemetery.
