On December 30, 2022, Lorraine Iris Cox "Mams" passed away peacefully at age 96 and rejoined her heavenly family. Born in New York and raised in Alabama, Lorraine enjoyed life on the farm. She often told stories of her cousins and grandparents who helped raise her. At age 16 Lorraine moved to California where she met her husband, Jack. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her two children, Denise and Michael. Lorraine entered the workforce after being widowed at the young age of 37. She played the role of mother and father in a time when that wasn't common. Despite these struggles, she always provided a loving and warm home for her children.
Lorraine would proudly brag about her 3 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters to her friends at work and the gym. She was always known for her energy, spunk and love for life! Her family and friends loved her dearly and many thought of Lorraine as the grandmother they never had. Her departure reminds us that angels are watching over us.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Jack and son, Michael. She is survived by her daughter Denise, 3 grandchildren, and her two great-granddaughters.
A private mass for Lorraine will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
Location: Fairhaven Memorial Services Chapel, 27856 Center Drive, Mission Viejo, California 92692.
