John Timothy Cayne, 56, of Los Angeles, CA passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 14, 2022 due to heart failure. John is survived by his wife and “Love of My Life” (LOML) Stacie Cayne, the lights of his life: daughters and son, Alexis, Ashley and Joshua Cayne, his “bonus son,” Josh Androsky, all of Los Angeles, CA, and “bonus daughter” Jessica Androsky of Baudette, MN. He is also survived by his mom, Mary Jane Cayne of Cleveland, OH, dad, Bob Cayne of Scottsdale, AZ, “favorite brother” Bob and wife Phyllis Cayne of Incline Village, NV and “favorite sister” Betsy and husband Doug Fuller of Cincinnati, OH, along with nieces Melissa Cayne of Denver, CO and Hannah and Emily Fuller of Cincinnati, OH.
Born in Cleveland, OH on Nov. 5, 1965, he was a graduate of Euclid High School and John Carroll University. John moved to Los Angeles in 1995 and pursued a successful career in advertising, most recently with his incredible friend and boss, Rita Campbell, and his Global Media family.
John’s passions included cheering on his Brownies, Cavs and any teams that his kids were playing on. He loved golfing with his buddies and keeping friendships strong, even across the miles. His Salt Fork and Salt Fork West golf outings were legendary. For John, his happiest places on earth were the Big Island of Hawaii and Disneyland with the people he loved most. Music was such a big part of his life that, even in his final moments, he had his earbuds in, blasting Van Halen.
John was the glue that kept families, friend groups and colleagues together. To say he will be missed is the understatement of the century. John has left his mark on anyone who was lucky enough to have him in their lives. He was one of those rare people who turned every stranger into a friend. The only thing he did better than taking care of those he loved, was making lifelong memories.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Kevin Cordasco Foundation honoring heroes of childhood cancer, a cause that was near and dear to John’s heart: www.somethingyellow.org
