Charles David Maranto was born in Sydney, Australia on November 14, 1944, from parents Charles William Maranto and Marian Eliean Bell. Along with brothers, Daniel R. Maranto and William J. Maranto. Charles graduated from Napa Valley High School in 1963, then he enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the USS O'Brien during Vietnam from 1963-1967. He graduated from Sacramento State University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration in Finance in 1974. He was married to Sharon Rose Chapin on July 24, 1965 to 1988. Then later married Holly Lynn Plotkin from 1989-1992. Charles left his beloved children Charles Jeffrey Maranto, Victoria Lynn Schmuhl, Suzanne Rene Baker, along with the memory of his son Gregory Ryan Maranto (October 27, 1977 - March 17, 1990). He is survived by his Grandchildren: Emily Nikole Baker, Caytlyn Martha Schmuhl, Charles Tyler Maranto, Haley Ryan Schmuhl, and Sydney Anneliese Baker.
Charles lived his life surrounded by his family and friends, who filled his life with laughter, love and fun. He was very social and enjoyed spending his time at The Ritz Carlton in Newport Beach, The Swallows Inn in San Juan Capistrano, and Billy's at the Beach in Newport Beach. He was an advent traveler to places such as Hawaii, China, Mexico, Las Vegas and spent his summers in Lake Havasu. He loved his beloved family and grandchildren, spoiling them for Christmas, cooking large fancy dinners, watching movies, and going shopping with his loved ones. He loved and appreciated the finer things in life, and sharing them with his loved ones.
In 2015, he survived a major stroke that left him dependent on others due to neurological brain damage. He was then taken into the home and care of his daughter Suzanne Baker, and her family for six and a half years until passing away peacefully in his home on August 30, 2021.
