Alex departed this world on May 23, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Alex was born on September 4, 1968 (54 years old). A McAllen native Alex attended Bowie Elementary and graduated from McAllen High School. Where he participated in the Special Olympics throughout his life.
Alex was the youngest of seven siblings, a position he embraced with enthusiasm as he was known to most as our "Gordo", "Baby Boy" "Papacito" and "Little Brother."
Survived by sister Margaret Macias, brothers Raul (Emily) Macias, Martin (Glenda) Macias, and Jorge (Estella) Macias. Joined in heaven by his parents Manuel N. Macias and Maria M. Macias "Chita", brothers Jaime N. Macias, and Manuel N. Macias "Nick" (Marisa Guerra Macias). Cared for by niece Jessica Macias, and family friend Juanita Martinez.
Alejandro shared a special bond with each of his family members, and their collective love and support nurtured him throughout his life. With his radiant personality he could instantly light up any room he entered. Alex enjoyed spending time with his family members, especially his brothers. He enjoyed working at MGM, listening to music and rooting for the Cowboys and Spurs. Alex made a lasting heart felt connection with anyone he encountered, where ever he would go.
Please join us in the celebration of Alex's life. A public visitation will take place at Funeraria Del Angel -Mission (3611 N. Taylor Rd, Mission, TX 78573) on Tuesday May 30, 2023 from 3pm -12am with a Rosary to begin at 7pm. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church (1108 W Hackberry Ave, McAllen, TX 78501) Wednesday May 31,2023 at 10 am with a burial to follow immediately after at Valley Memorial Gardens (3611 N. Taylor Rd, Mission, TX 78573) at 11am.
As we mourn the loss of Alex, let us also celebrate the vibrant and beautiful life he lived. In our hearts, he will forever remain a source of inspiration, a reminder to embrace life's joys, and that most things are "NO BIG DEAL". Alex, you will be dearly missed, but your memory will forever be a guiding light to us all.
