Violet was born on February 28, 1918 to Helwa and Khedouri Ezair in Basra, Iraq, during a time of peace for the Jewish community there. She was the eldest of seven children: brothers Nadji, Menashi and Yousef and sisters Doris, Eveline and Majdoline.
Violet lived through two World Wars and two pandemics and resided in three different countries, Iraq, Iran and Israel, before eventually settling in the United States in 1980. She loved nothing more than being with her family, showering them with love (and food) and celebrating their health and happiness. She also loved a good game of cards.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Azoori, in 1973. Violet leaves behind her sister Majdoline Zelkha and her three children, Lillie (Barry) Weiss, Gloria (David) Frankel, and Salman (Eliane) Rabie; her five grandchildren, Carol (Shouli) Mezrahi, Debbie (Sharokh) Roxarzade, Ezra (Jessica) Weiss, David (Jessica) Rabie and Jacque Rabie; and her nine great grand-children, Kelsey (Adam) Farzaneh, Ethan, Kyle, Rachel, Ryan, Oliver, Joshua, Elizabeth and Penelope.
Violet will forever be in our hearts and remembered for her extraordinary kindness, her unwavering dedication to family, and her warm spirit that touched so many lives.
