I loved coaching little league with Marty!  He was so good to the kids he coached, respectful but demanding in the sense of bringing the best out of them in both character and ability.   I remember so many things - how he worked so well teaching certain kids to pitch, stressing their mechanics so that one could almost call a ball or strike just from viewing their mechanics. It was amazing! He gave the funniest signs to the kids for base running and they didn’t realize it was just to keep them mentally in the game and paying attention.  So much fun!  Every kid had to run on and off the field except the pitcher!  What an inspiration he was to all of us. Coaching the Royals With Marty was such a special privilege and such a time of learning for the kids and for me. I will never forget Marty or his son, Joel.
