Libby "Lillian" Jaffe Rosencranz of San Francisco, California, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 (21 Adar 5775), at 93. Services will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at 2 pm. Services will be officiated by Rabbi Paul Steinberg, and will conclude graveside in Eden Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Libby's memory to the charity of your choice.
Libby is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Arthur Rosencranz (Of Blessed Memory); her siblings, Gladys (Al) Hyman (both Of Blessed Memory), Sam (Helen) Jaffe (both Of Blessed Memory), and Goldie (Milton) Berman (both Of Blessed Memory); and her nieces, Judy Berman (Of Blessed Memory) and Selma Fransene (Of Blessed Memory); and is survived by her adored children, Laurie Rosencranz and Josh (Ursula) Rosencranz; her beloved grandchildren, Jordan Rosencranz, Ove (Lorena Maciel) Rosencranz, Kelly Rosencranz, and Ivan Rosencranz; god-grandchildren, Ally and Daniela Rosen; great-granddaughter, Yareily Rosencranz; nieces, Eileen, Vicki, Jackie, Michele, and Donna; and cherished nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Libby was a great cook and loved food, as well as playing bridge, golf, games, and visiting casinos. She cheated regularly at Scrabble. She was very involved, up on current events, and always willing to help out friends and family. She was a movie buff and aspiring actress. She was an extra in several movies. Her favorite movie star was Clark Gable, and her favorite TV personality was Alex Trebek. She was a lifelong baseball fan, the Dodgers and Giants were her teams. She loved languages, dabbling in Yiddish, Spanish, and Russian. But most of all, she loved her family.
